BRUCELLOSIS IN CATTLE (DISEASE-FREE AREA) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER, 1970. |

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Brucellosis in Cattle (Disease-Free Area) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order, 1970. |
||
(2) The collective citation "the Brucellosis in Cattle (Disease-Free Area) Orders, 1968 to 1970", shall include this Order. |
||
(3) This Order shall come into operation on the 19th day of May, 1970. |
||
2. Article 18 of the Brucellosis in Cattle (Disease-Free Area) Order, 1968 ( S.I. No. 112 of 1968 ), as amended by Article 2 of the Brucellosis in Cattle (Disease-Free Area) (Amendment) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 29 of 1970 ), is hereby amended by:-- |

(a) the substitution of "a controlled animal" for "an eligible animal" in subparagraph (a) of paragraph (1), |
||
(b) the substitution of "a controlled animal" and "other controlled animal" for "an eligible animal" and "other eligible animal", respectively, in subparagraph (b) of that paragraph, and |
||
(c) the insertion of the following paragraphs after paragraph (5): |
||
"(6) For the purposes of this Article an animal having its fourth permanent molar tooth erupted shall be deemed to be aged at least six months. |
||
(7) In this Article 'controlled animal' means any female animal aged six months or over or any male animal aged six months or over, except a castrate." |

EXPLANATORY NOTE. |
||
This Order extends existing controls on the movement of animals into the Disease-Free Area to female animals between 6 and 12 months of age and to bulls between 6 and 9 months of age. |
